To live and proclaim the mystery of Nazareth by promoting devotion to the Holy Family, fostering true Christian family life, and providing Catholic education and pastoral ministry especially for youth and families, reflecting the virtues and unity of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.

Short History

The Congregation of the Sons of the Holy Family was founded on 19 March 1864 in Tremp, Spain by Saint Josep Manyanet i Vives, a Spanish priest deeply committed to strengthening Catholic family life and forming children and youth in the faith. The congregation’s inspiration comes from the example of the Holy Family of Nazareth, whose hidden life of love, prayer, and work they seek to make a model for Christian families worldwide. Their work includes schools, family ministry, and parish outreach.
They received a decretum laudis from Pope Leo XIII in 1887 and formal approval by the Holy See in 1901, after which they gradually expanded beyond Spain to Italy, the Americas, and other regions. The Sons of the Holy Family are present in multiple countries today and continue to emphasize education, pastoral care, and the spiritual renewal of families according to the Gospel of the Holy Family.
